Connect, Reflect and Grow

About Broad River

Broad River is a collection of engaged, welcoming women who create meaningful connections to build ourselves, each other and our communities. We welcome women of all ages, with diverse experiences, from all backgrounds and professions. Members are small business owners, corporate professionals, community organizers, volunteers, moms. What draws us together are opportunities to gather in relaxed spaces – virtual and live – to develop personal & professional relationships and learn with and from each other.
Broad River was founded in January 2019 by Laurie Hirsch Schulz of LHS Coaching with support from the Shames JCC on the Hudson Affinity Fellowship program. While Broad River’s geographic heart is centered in the Westchester Rivertowns, we welcome members from through-out the lower Hudson Valley who are looking for a community where they may “Connect, Reflect and Grow”.

What we offer

Broad River is building community in a variety of ways. While COVID-19 has required us to transition from in-person to virtual gatherings, it has not held us back from regular connections.

General Sessions

Five times a year, we gather together on a Tuesday evening for easy, low pressure networking combined with an interactive session with local experts designed to help us grow personally and professionally. Past sessions have included topics as diverse as “Personal Branding with a Twist”, “Strategic Storytelling” and “Being Present & Resilient in Uncertain Times”.

Coffee Connects

Broad River Coffee Connects provide an opportunity to get together outside of our larger meetings to make new connections and reconnect with friends and acquaintances. Take some time to share wins & challenges, share & learn something new or simply just relax with other members of our community.

Coffee Connects are held on regular Tuesdays at 9:00 am. Visit our Facebook Event page for dates and the Zoom link.

Our Facebook Group

Our private Facebook group offers another space for members to connect and share insights, seek inspiration and promote programs they are engaged in or offering. Keep-up with all other Broad River programming here as well.

Sept. General Session: Your Style, Your Brand

Award-winning image consultant Kendra Porter will share tips on how to use style and fashion to tell your story and project your brand.  We will be in-person, outside at the Shames JCC in Tarrytown!

Join Broad River to connect, reflect and grow in a welcoming and energized space with other women from the Westchester Rivertowns. The program will include relaxed networking to facilitate direct connections & interactions. In addition to the personal styling program and small group networking, there will be an opportunity for everyone to share events, programs and initiatives they are engaged in with the broader group.

Many thanks to our first partner sponsor Rivertowns Moms and Sweet Treat sponsor Sweets by Cari.
